Joseph Marcelonis is a Managing Director in Kroll’s Government Solutions practice, based out of the Boston office.

He has over 26 years of experience handling unclaimed property matters. Joseph joined the firm through the acquisition of Verus Analytics by Kroll in July 2020. He serves as the primary point of contact for Kroll clients, overseeing all aspects of business development and implementation with state clients while ensuring clear communication. Joseph is an unclaimed property subject matter expert, having presented at national conferences on unclaimed property auditing and how to return more funds back to state citizens.

Prior to joining Verus in 2010, Joseph was involved in the day-to-day operations and acted as a client liaison for state clients with the ACS Unclaimed Property Clearinghouse. He developed and improved workflow efficiencies and ensured proper delivery of unclaimed property to clients. He also conducted webinars, provided internal training, and communicated regularly with clients on new developments, important unclaimed property issues and new initiatives.

Joseph is an elected member of the Corporate Affiliate Advisory Board for the National Association of State Treasurers (NAST), and the 2025 recipient of the National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators (NAUPA) Corporate Affiliate Award. He received a B.A. from Boston College.
